Paradise Cottage is a perfect name for this perfect cottage! Sitting on the deck with a glass of wine while watching lobster boats, and an occasional sail boat, pass, is a little bit of heaven. The cottage is lovely inside and out with it’s floor to ceiling windows facing the water and “stroll thru the forest” while walking down the hall. And never a worry about what to bring, with the well thought through kitchen – dishes, pots and pans, bowls, baking accessories, and a new gas grill on the deck. We’re always sad to leave, but begin our planning and cannot wait to return every year.

Beyond a place in time, staying at Seanook is a transformational journey! It is a magical place where indoors and expansive outdoors merge as one. The comings and goings of the sea and its wildlife are endlessly captive. I’ve just returned from yet another off-season getaway with my five other teacher girlfriends. We came laden with puzzles, books, knitting, a sewing machine, embroidery, a Scrabble board, binoculars, and the most luscious ingredients to enjoy the feasts we cooked up in Seanook’s generously supplied kitchen, an amazing gathering place for preparation, conversation, and delight. The jaunts to Boothbay Harbor, or seaside walks along the Point Road, spring flower strolls in the neighborhood, breakfast at the East Boothbay General Store, and visiting Mary Ellen tending her garden and hosting a visit in her art studio, every moment and every detail captures perfection. It is a magical haven indeed!

We cannot say enough about this cottage and location as well as our host, Mary Ellen. The incredible views from every room, the gorgeous sunsets every night and added treat of a pair of bald eagles as neighbors during our stay. We also enjoyed at least 5 species of ducks swimming, diving and fishing. The cottage is in a great location with easy proximity to so much in the area yet it feels so secluded and peaceful. Already looking forward to next year.

We just spent 8 nights at Seanook from September 30th through October 8th and it was fabulous! The weather was great, the leaves were just changing and Seanook was perfection. We loved the windows and skylights everywhere so we always had a view of the water and all of nature. This home is stocked with everything you could ever need. The bed was very comfortable. We will definitely be back!
Mary Ellen is a wonderful hostess and she provides tons of information about restaurants and things to do in Boothbay. We felt completely at home here in Seanook and thoroughly enjoyed the peaceful surroundings. It was just what we needed to begin our new Retired life!!

We’ve just returned home to New Mexico after yet another marvelous stay at Seanook. This was our 5th time there for several weeks each
September and have loved every minute, every aspect of Seanook. The location is on an amazing quiet road that runs along the eastern shore of Linekin Bay. Seanook literally sits out OVER the water (just a little) and upstairs or down, the floor to ceiling windows, decks both upstairs and downstairs, a ramp leading to a float…It’s all about the view, the wildlife, ospreys, eagles, seals (2 this year), many varieties of birds, the incredible sunsets, just WOW. The house itself is a treasure, so unique, so comfortable and reflecting the artist’s touch of Mary Ellen and the craftsmanship of Ron. If you are lucky enough to stay here, you won’t regret it! Oh, one more thing…Seanook sits towards the northern end of the bay so it doesn’t take forever to get anywhere. Great location.

We booked a long weekend at Seanook Cottage. The cottage is located on the water with great views from any room. The cottage was extremely clean and working with Mary Ellen as a host was great. The kitchen has everything you need if cooking is your thing. Mary Ellen has great knowledge of the area and plenty of material in the cottage if you need some guidance on what to do. Again it’s a great place with fantastic views.

My husband and I have just enjoyed another beautiful week in Seanook.  Our stay during the last week in September could not have been better.  Peter loves to fish and he was out on the dock morning and night.  He was not disappointed.  Plenty of Mackerel and a Striped Bass!!!
We have been coming for more years than I can count.  The peace and serenity that this special cottage offers is second to none!! It always replenishes our spirits.  Whether you stay close to the cottage or explore the amazing beauty of the Maine coast, you will always find something that suits you.
Can’t wait for our next stay in June 2023!!
